Do you get given the information that's going to go on the front or do you have to guess? Are the black boxes on the left going to be used by the mag for certain or are they where you would personally put them?
I'll say "I want to do an Icarus cover" and then I'll get response, "Lets do a #DS feature" then I get an email that says:
Games - Kid Icarus, Ocarina, Starfox, Resident Evil, Streetfighter, Rayman, Cave Story, Dead or Alive (which I ran out of space for) and the AR Cards, especially the Dragon.
Then I go get all the ref and make the cover. It's on me to know of all the games (which Ido, cause I'm an uber geek) and make it all work. I then send out the color ruffy so they can see the direction, and then get to making the art. I do all the layout, design, art, coloring, everything myself on my own.
Yup WIP 01 is exactly what I start with and I trace right over it. I'll release an in-depth PDF with the podcast after shipping showing the whole process (50 + pics). I'm def my own editor when it comes to the art, tho I rely heavily on my past experience with direction, to avoid major redo's. This project is for my company, we create/produce GameFan. Np!
