GameCave: Fighting Junkies Cover Final Art! by RobDuenas GameCave: Fighting Junkies Cover Final Art! by RobDuenas
UPDATE: Game Cave Kickstarter is now live! - tinyurl.com/mjkp77k

Starting work on my next Kickstarter, gonna combine my gaming magazine design work on Play/GameFan with comic book/art book style stuffs.
It's more like if the Penny Arcade characters did actual mag style reviews, like a Gaming Comic Book if that makes sense. Been a dream of mine to do this since 2010, glad to take the first step forward since canceling GameCave last year.

The main KS will feature 6 11x17 prints. 5 will be my orig characters in cosplay with accessories, each featuring a classic fighting game. The 6th print will be backer voted, could be anything, with the original art to be raffled off to those who backed the physical tiers. The tier will also include a 94 page digital PDF, covering the best in retro and modern fighting games, written by all 8 of our fictional editors, the Game Cave Crew. There will be an add on option for a physical copy of the book, avail to those who backed the physcial tiers. Lastly there will be 100 random sketchy and suave commsihes each. The stretchgoals will be a total of 6 extra prints, all backer voted, adn three 11x17 custom commish slots which will be raffled off among the physical tier backers. I'm hard at work on this now and moving quickly to get it up this month. Here we go again.

Rob sir -

Is this what the physical copy will look like and if so, is it included by backing the KS project? This looks compelling and I'd like to get in on it if it has a tangible copy I can put in a collection.

Yup if you back at $30 tier you can get a physical copy as an add-on, I wont be printing much just what we sell thru the KS, otherwise its digital with physical art prints. This is the cover art tho check it out. thx!

Rob sir, finally got it figured out; gonna make my donation what will be day before. Definitely save an actual, physical copy for the wife and I! I truly do miss getting to hold and turn the pages of my favorite game mags so if you should decide to make this an ongoing thing; count us up one subscription!

Lastly; how do you feel about doing a hulking Apocalypse being mean and broody on a sketch cover one of these days? I would LOVE to see your interpretation!

I just added an affordable Physical Tier option, $30 includes shipping and a print. I'll def keep a copy here just in case, but every bit help with Kickstarter cred lol I'm def in it for the long haul, digital subscriptions might be possible looking into how we can do that without a monthly fulfillment company gouging me. I love owning my own mag and I def plan on bringing back that GameFan feel to modern stuffs. Damn this si sawesome!

Always have commish slots  avail so keep me in the loop!

I see that you did add that sir; much appreciated! And I was completely sincere about the sub for an ongoing printed mag sir - truly you can dial us up if it is half as good as it looks right now! Please keep us posted on how we can help make it possible! Even if it was only a bi-monthly publication - it would be worth it !

Separately; set me down for a commission request sir! Where do I send my money/blank to and I will get it to you when you get free!

at the level i need each issue to be, plus doing all our own fulfillment it'l be more like 3-4 issues a year, so I don't have subscription plan, maybe digital, but I really really really don't like subs, you don't know how many times I've heard "I lost my subscription" "I never received my issues" so I dunno lol Subs were never done to help sell issues they were done to help sell ads. If I ever went that route it would have to be for specific issues, like Issues 1-4. Not, a year or something like that. Plus people move, just shipping prints within a 4-5 month period people disappear, so reshipping things is hard if not impossible at the indie level.
