- Wurkin art into the articles and layouts has proven to be a it more of a challenge than I initially thought. Not in the drawing part per se, but in the consistency across the mag/format. The one thing I never got ahold of in GF was standard word counts, font sizes, and box placement. Not to say the whole mag should be one template reskinned for 24 pages, but that each section should have a format, that either switches a page style here and there or remains consistent in font size and approx article length. When articles came up short in GF I would add small screenshots with captions (sometimes captions lol) to fill it out and keep the text boxes even and flush. Here I'm adding permanent placement for art, both in chibi style and my own style with captions. I've removed this pieces captions for now, but theres a reason she's yelling Ripley when there is no Ripley in the game. I'm also a little rusty in drawing lately but hings are picking up since I quit all my extra freelance and focused on GCM and my commishes. - Rad
Check out the development of the mag at our Facebook page, I'm workings on the first issue now.
Wow Rob, I just saw your Facebook and I gotta say that the mag is shaping up real nicely. It's also great to see you and James working together again too. You guys are a lot more organized than GameFan, looking at them now, it's kinda depressing. Anyway, I can't wait to see the final product. Keep us posted.
Thx dood. Yeah James I really built issues 6&7 of GF, so we're really used to working together, tho we had to scrap half of issue 7 at the final hour for Dave *sigh* The issues right now will be 24pages long, more like a comic but at standard magazine size and prefect bound. $8 per (includes digital copy) and delivered right to your door on demand and ever 6-7 weeks or so. Lots more art obviously and just something that isn't about news and previews, but rather Gaming Culture (from the "world of Games" rather than sociopolitical jargon) also I'm not interested in making a buyers guide, it should be fans of games making something that caters to FANS of games lol crazy I know.
My GF just got me the arcade header for the game for my Bday. Looking to get a backlit frame for it so it looks all snazzy on ze wall.
and as her lol
